The 48 Grant is the manifestation of Robert Martin Eisenberg and Givin’ it Back Industries. Originally named after the 48 contiguous states of America, the grant is now available to people in all 50 states. Robert’s intention is to give individual homeowners mortgage assistance during this economic downturn. The grant will give struggling homeowners monthly mortgage payment relief that will be paid directly to their lender for up to 12 months (1 year). The amount of the grant may be 25% of your largest mortgage payment, not to exceed $500 per month. The grant is designed to be a stopgap, not a handout. With this help, hard-working people get to keep their homes and avoid foreclosure. When the financial picture improves for the homeowner—they get a job, sell the property, or refinance the mortgage—the grant will be discontinued.

The 48 Grant is for owner occupied properties of one to four units in the United States. Investment or income properties won’t be considered. A completed grant application and permission for the grantor to run and maintain credit history on the grantee (the person who gets the money) will be required by the applicant. A hardship letter explaining the applicant’s current situation and how they got there will also be required and reviewed. In addition, in order for the 48 Grant selection committee to determine that a grant applicant is committed and prepared to improve their financial condition and is developing the requisite knowledge of how to best address their situation, potential grant recipients will be required to show proof of purchase of the book Surviving Mortgage Meltdown.

Funds for the grants will come from a variety of sources. Robert Martin Eisenberg has pledged $100,000 to match profits from the sale of the book Surviving Mortgage Meltdown, which will be available to applicants as part of this grant program.
